Welcome to Frantoio di Montalcino
Frantoio di Montalcino is the only olive oil mill within the Brunello di Montalcino appellation, in the heart of Tuscany. The mill was established over 75 years ago and was fully renovated in 2023 with the latest technology, combining the finest Italian traditions with state-of-the-art machinery.
Frantoio di Montalcino is the first olive mill in the world to implement sub-zero extraction — a revolutionary method developed in collaboration with the University of Perugia under Professor Maurizio Servili. By milling olives below 0 °C, we preserve the highest possible concentration of the oil's most valuable properties: polyphenols, antioxidants, and Vitamin E. The BRUNERA range reaches up to 1,200 mg/kg of polyphenols; the Colori di Toscana line exceeds 800 mg/kg. The method also extends the oil's freshness and flavour for far longer than conventional production.
Master Miller Daniele Lepori
Daniele Lepori is the Master Miller at Frantoio di Montalcino. With more than 25 years of experience and 86 gold medals at international competitions, he is among the most recognised millers working today.
His work has been featured in the Flos Olei guide — curated by Marco Oreggia and recognised as the definitive selection of the world's 500 finest olive oils — every year from 2018 onward. In 2021, Daniele received the Flos Olei Best Medium Fruity in the World.
Beyond Flos Olei, his oils have won at the New York International Olive Oil Competition, Olive Japan, the Dubai International Olive Oil Competition, the Monte Carlo Olive Oil Competition, the Evo Italia Olive Oil Contest, and others — recognition built over decades of unwavering attention to a single craft.

Today, Frantoio di Montalcino offers three lines of extra virgin olive oil:
BRUNERA — our flagship ultra-premium collection, recognised with Gold Awards at international competitions in New York, London, Monte Carlo, Japan, Berlin, Milan, and Canada, and named Best Mill in Italy at the 2026 Tuscany Food Awards. The range includes the classic BRUNERA, the organic BRUNERA Nobile Bio — bearing the personal signature of Donna Camilla Carrega Bartolini — and BRUNERA Yacht Club, a super-delicate oil created especially for seafood and poured at the most refined tables of Monaco and Nice. The collection also features BRUNERA with Natural White Truffle, an exceptional condiment for elevating any dish.
Toscano IGP — a high-polyphenol, 100% Tuscan extra virgin olive oil, certified by the Tuscan Olive Oil Consortium. An authentic expression of Tuscan terroir, with full traceability from the olive tree to the bottle.
Colori di Toscana by Daniele Lepori — a family of naturally flavoured condiments built on Toscano IGP extra virgin olive oil, infused with fresh Italian ingredients: Peperoncino (Cayenne chilli), Limone (lemon), Aglio (Tuscan garlic), and Aglio e Peperoncino (garlic and chilli — the classic Italian pasta foundation).
